SHORT COMPERING COURSE IN HASTINGS

Venue: Memorial Art Gallery, 7 Cambridge Road, Hastings (3 mins walk from Hastings Station)
Whether you want to compere or become a more intuitive performer this course is for you. I have called it a compering course because compering really means starting to perform from a standing start, doing the warm up, setting the tone. It can also mean you have to administrate the event, tell people when breaks are, if someones car is blocking the exit and sometimes where the loo is, all the while you are being funny. On this course Sally Holloway will introduce you to:
- Setting up the room
- How to segue seamlessly into material
- Keeping a theme going
- Bringing other acts on and off stage (and what to do if they are rubbish)
- How to cope if things go wrong
- Why being funny is not the top priority when compering
I am only allowing 12 places on this course. I have kept the price down because I want it to be very experimental, go further than I have gone on other courses on what I call ‘walking into the unknown’, so come and walk the line with me…
